Reward programs are structured marketing efforts that reward, and therefore encourage buying behavior. This buying behavior, which is potentially beneficial to the firm, is a win-win situation. Initially, individuals were the target recipients of reward programs. A person could accumulate reward points, providing free merchandise, discounts, and in some cases even airline tickets. Over the years reward programs developed, becoming beneficial for businesses, non-profits, and even schools.

A global leader in the beverage industry, the Coca-Cola Company has joined in rewards marketing strategy with My Coke rewards for schools program. With this program, parents, teachers, and virtually all community members can register and donate points to their school of choice. Rewards such as art supplies and sports equipment support the ways kids play and Coke Rewards can help to attain them. Even the smallest point contribution can lead to great things for students in the community.

How’s that for a reward program. Buy your favorite beverage from the list, quench your thirst, and help a school purchase classroom, sport, and art supplies. Sounds like a win-win situation to me. What say you?
