Visit PA | Philly Blast from the Past

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of PA Tourism. All opinions are 100% mine.

Beautiful mountainous scenery, statewide historic landmarks, and rich cultural arts, formulates an amazing place for vacationing. Having been born and raised outside of Philadelphia, I can attest to Pennsylvania’s vacation multiplicity. Romantic getaways, family vacations, or a spontaneous road trip can be planned with ease using Roadtrip-a-Matic.

I was a bit giddy about this Roadtrip-a-Matic review given my background [big grin]. Choosing to visit Philadelphia, areas of interest are broken down by theme such as Culture, Events, History and Heritage, Places to Stay, and so on. One can map out an entire vacation simply by selecting the PA destination.

Individual areas of interest are shown on a map of the city. Clicking the individual links will give a synopsis of the place, and tell what is nearby, where to stay, and how to get there. In addition, a list of suggested pa-roadtrips is provided.

Our Philadelphia Vacation

I chose Philadelphia because Hubby is history buff. Locating the historical sites in and around the city was easy. Realizing the many places I have never visited it became apparent how much one takes their surroundings for granted!  The Liberty Bell, the Betsy Ross House, and Independence Hall were very familiar but I never visited or even knew about the Civil War and Underground Railroad Museum of Philadelphia, check that!

A favorite place of mine is Logan Square. Ben Franklin Parkway is load with museums and history including The Philadelphia Museum of Art. Hubby might just frown upon that tour but will enjoy seeing Rocky I’m sure. Besides its give and take anyway, am I right?

Moving on and a Philadelphia must see is the Italian Markets. That is, if you enjoy real Italian food and open markets. This is one place Hubby and I totally agree on. In this South Philly neighborhood (9th Street Curb Market), you will find artisan bakeries, old style butcher shops, plenty of Italian bistro style eateries, cafes, and outdoor food markets. Oh and be sure to visit Pats and Ginos to decide for yourself who has the ultimate Philly Cheese Steak!

Roadtrip-a-Matic Opinion

Using Roadtrip-a-Matic was a blast from the past with newly found interests. We love roadtrips but I hate the responsiblity of planning them. With this, I planned a whole vacation from one destination page. Like I said planning was easy and all you really have to do is the packing!

In my opinion whether you plan to visit Amish Country, Pocono Mountains, Valley Forge or anywhere in Pennsylvania, this is the trip planner for you!
