Review: Diaper Rash Cream

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Boudreaux’s Butt Paste. All opinions are 100% mine.

An Interesting History

The main formula found in Boudreaux’s Butt Paste was compounded by a local pharmacist, Dr. George Boudreaux. The diaper rash cream was originally developed in the 1970s by Louisiana pediatrician “Pappy” Talbot.

By 1994, Butt Paste had become quite popular among pediatricians, according to a piece featured on Oprah. Boudreaux sold his pharmacy to concentrate on marketing Butt Paste. Dr. Boudreaux initiated a marketing campaign comprised of regional trade shows and local pharmacies.  In his newly purchased RV, he promoted the analgesic, antiseptic, and antifungal properties of Butt Paste.

One of Dr. Boudreaux presentations convinced a regional manager employed at a local Wal-Mart to conduct product trials. The assessment revealed Butt Paste outsold the leading brand by a large margin.

In the past few years, Butt Paste has been featured on The Oprah Show, Tonight Show, Today Show, ESPN, and People Magazine. Butt Paste can be found in Wal-Mart, Target, and Walgreens as well as many online stores.

Product Overview

Butt Paste is primarily used to treat diaper rash and sooth irritated skin. Customer claims expand the usage immensely and include abrasions, acne, blisters, chafing, chapped lips, feminine irritation, heat rashes, hemorrhoids, jock itch, minor burns, poison ivy, psoriasis, razor burn, and shingles.

The active ingredient in Butt Paste is noted as zinc oxide, at 16%. This is a common active ingredient found in many diaper creams. Other listed ingredients include Peruvian balsam, boric acid, castor oil, mineral oil, white wax, and petrolatum. According to Dr. Boudreaux, Peruvian balsam is responsible for the analgesic, antiseptic, and anti fungal properties thus enabling Butt Paste to outperform other diaper creams.

Butt Paste is sold in jars and an array of convenient flip-top sizes that range from one to four ounces. Single use foil pouches are also available. The makers boast wipe on and clean off ease, pleasant scent, and skin protecting.

Customer testimony around the net:

“This product was recommended by a fellow baseball player’s parents. It is the only thing we’ve found that presents chafing that comes with all-day baseball tournaments and sweaty sliders/baseball pants.”

“As an adult that has had a problem with incontinence for the past two years, I woke up with a very bad case of diaper rash about two months ago. I tried the normal products that I could purchase locally for weeks and nothing helped. I finally purchased the Butt Paste from out of desperation and because of the good reviews that it received. The Butt Paste has worked very well for me. It has a pleasant smell, applies easily, and soothes the itch and tenderness from the rash. My symptoms are almost completely gone at this time which I am very thankful for. I am very happy with this product. ”

“My fingers and feet get dry then sometimes crack and bleed in the winter. I have tried every skin product known to man. The others worked but took a week or more. Butt Paste has taken care of the problem in two to three days. I do not have to apply it every day. Usually a couple times a winter and I am good to go.
