Walgreens Way to Well Fund? Supports Local Families

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

Did you know Walgreens is bringing preventive wellness services to local communities? How many times do you hear the news media grumble about big businesses getting all the breaks? This is a prime example of big business reaching out to local communities and something for which we can be proud and thankful.

Beginning February 1, 2011 through January 31, 2012, 1 1¢ from the purchase of every
Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products up to $3 million annually, will support local communities through the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™.

Perhaps the big red travel van has already been to your town, I know it was here in Southwest Florida. The Walgreens Way to Well Fund™ will provide free preventive health tests as well as other health and wellness services and education to local communities. Some of those services will include preventive health tests through the National Urban League Wellness Tour and vouchers redeemable in select stores.

Walgreens works with some of the nation’s top health organizations – American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, American Diabetes Association, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation – to help reduce the incidences of heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.

My greatest experience is with Walgreens first aid supplies. Having two rough and tumble boys I found Walgreens brand to be a great value, allowing our family to save money without sacrificing quality or trust. The boys never wanted to visit the doctor and, whenever possible, preferred mom to fix the wounds. I can still hear them, “Aaawww Mom just fix me it, I don’t wanna go to the doctor. ” They would rather suffer through my wound clean up and closure then take time to visit a doctor, oh boy they were tough kids. Hubby said we should now hold stock in Walgreens antibiotic ointment!

Walgreens made it easy to keep our first aide cabinet stocked with their BOGO sales. My must have first aide products included triple antibiotic ointment, tender tape, Walgreens hydrogen peroxide 3% first aid antiseptic, sterile saline wound wash, iodine tincture 2% USP, Flexible Fabric Adhesive Bandages in various sizes and lots of gauze pads and rolls.

I am pleased to take part in sharing The Walgreens Way to Well Fund™ and hope you will pass on this helpful information to your family and friends.
